The story behind Rainraps:
RAINRAPS started as a simple idea on a rainy day.
Stacy Struminger, a New Yorker now living in Richmond, VA by trade, has long had the need to create a stylish, lightweight, and water resistant accessory. This because of the often wet and humid climate in Richmond.
In the spring of 2011, an extended period of rain left Stacy frustrated with the lack of a fashionable, waterproof garment in her wardrobe. Stacy searched in vain, but nothing in stores convinced her of rainwear, which was also stylish.
A piece of clothing in her closet gave her the inspiration for a water-repellent poncho that was not only easy to use, but also stylish.
By sharing her idea with her best friend, Rachel Teyssier, they decided together to make the vision a reality. Therefore, a revolution in the development of fashionable water-repellent outerwear began and RAINRAPS was developed.
